Updated: Jun 28

It’s very important to keep your affairs in order, because it saves lots of time and keeps you highly productive. I will share ongoing updates and tips about organization that may be of some interest to you. Being organized takes time to become a habit. Stay tuned and I’m sure I can help.

Welcome to Genuinely Organized! Thanks for stopping by to be informed on how to stay on track at all times. Wouldn’t it be nice to be organized in all areas of your life? Four things that I really work hard on to keep things in order would be: personal engagements and goals, home, healthy living, and holidays. As working parents and spouses, life can very hectic with work demands, house chores, yours and kids’ schedules/ appointments, and not to mention the things that never seem to get crossed off of your “To Do List.”

What is ORGANIZED, and Why Does it Matter?

According to dictionary.com Organized means to have formal structure, especially to coordinate or carry out for widespread activities.

The idea for us to stay organized is to be productive, become better with time management, and become more productive to better ourselves. No one wants to feel like they’ve wasted precious time, and nothing has been accomplished. Once your organized, life seems to run so much smoother and things can start being crossed off that Things To Do List.

How to Be Effectively Organized:

Write Everything Down

It doesn’t matter how great of a memory you have, writing things down makes one feel more accountable and responsible for things they need and want to get done. If you’re old school, find a nice small notebook to write things down, but if you’re more of a tech person, download a list app. I make list for everything; they keep me very productive! I downloaded Any List. I love it because you can have multiple list in one place.

Make a Realistic Schedule

The first thing a schedule needs to include is some time for yourself. I wake up first thing in the morning and ride my bike, it motivates me to plan out the rest of my day. Waking up early can be the answer to being more productive. As the saying goes, “Early Bird Gets the Worm”.

Find a Time Management System

Proper rest is mandatory to follow any Time Management System. Over time, I have made it a habit to go to bed at a decent time, and I feel much better when I awake in the morning. To effectively be productive using a time management system, planning ahead is KEY! Weather you start your week on Sunday or Monday, you should check your calendar and plan for the upcoming week.

Know Better Do Better

The first half of 2020 is already behind us. It’s definitely a year like we’ve never had before, and we will always remember. We have experienced a pandemic in the world that has turned many of our life’s upside down. Things that we focused on at the beginning of the year were put to the back burner by mid-March. We can’t let things like this become a distraction for what we want or need to accomplish for this year or any other year.

Did it ever cross your mind at any time that maybe your extra time at home could have been used to get personal things done for yourself or your family? We all make short term goals at the beginning of the year, and sometimes life can throw curve balls at us to throw us off track. When this happens, it’s up to us to stay focused and make the best of difficult times. Remember what they say: “When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade.” It does take a lot of discipline, but I can guarantee the first time you see results after staying focused, it will be easier the next time. Let's get it together and get some things accomplished the last half of 2020!
